Having said that, however, if you truly felt that a week was too SHORT a timeframe for this project, it was up to you to tell your boss that -- in a nonconfrontational manner, of course.
There appears to be some "bad management" here... but I don't think it's necessarily
bad management because your boss thought you could
accomplish this project in the timeframe allotted.
The bad management is obvious because of the lack of COMMUNICATION involved here.
You need to start communicating with your boss and he/she with you.
